The East Cape region of Baja offers some of the best Blue Marlin Fishing anywhere during the summer months.  In a three week period during August 2008, six blue marlin over 600 pounds and three over 800 pounds were taken by Van Wormer Resorts boats!  Numerous other big blue marlin were released or lost during the hot summer season.
 
Large yellowfin abound in East Cape waters during August, and numerous fish over 200 pounds are caught each year.  Many are lost!  You will learn what it takes to catch these tough customers.

Hello all;

The summer season is rapidly approaching. Most fishermen's thoughts turn to offshore fishing for tuna yellows and more. Even the guys and gals that choose to stay on the local seen are hoping for the wide open bite of barracuda and sand bass.
 
Well one other yearly occurrence for us on the BIG GAME 90 is our always popular             KIDS FISH FREE SEMINAR TRIPS 
The support of several major tackle companies like OKUMA , EAGLE CLAW , A A LURES, SHIMANO, D.A.M. QUICK and several others make these trips possible.
Each Sunday morning in July the BIG GAME 90 puts on these very popular trips.
 
These trips are all about the kids. We pair each child up with the attending adult as a team. After signing in and making sure that everyone has a rod , reel & tackle pack
(a rod and reel as well as a tackle pack is provided to every child and adult)
We have everyone gather arround the bait tank for a safety speech and short talk about protecting the environment. Next is a lesson on the basics of rigging , casting ,selecting the right bait and knot tying.
Then it's off to the bait receivers and  on to the fishing grounds. Most trips will be spent down the cost towards Imperil Beach for sand bass barracuda and even an occasional      sea bass or yellowtail. The full BIG GAME 90 crew is on hand to help and teach.

After the fishing is done there are several prizes  awarded for the biggest fish caught
that day by one of  the kids,one of the adults and the team that catches the 2 biggest fish. On the way home Capt. Mike likes have each kid get a short peek of the bridge.
 
All and all these trips are a wonderful way to spend some quality time with your child and  introduce them to the great sport of fishing.
