Capt. Steve Peterson just called in with 40+ nice grade fish on board already. He had one hangin' as he made the call to give us the update. The fish are a larger grade up to 25lbs! Sounds like fun fishing out there today.

Another great trip to the Island yesterday in search of Lobster.
The boys started the day out with beautiful weather picking away at the rockfish. Once the sun started to set we deployed the hoops and found the bugs on the crawl once again. After the last set 47 legal lobsters made it in the boat with lots thrown back. We had guys getting there 7 big limit in one pull!!
We do it again this coming Sunday! Weather is forecasted to be good and below is all the info.....
This Sunday December 28th the Gail Force will once again be heading over to Catalina Island for a "full day" Rock Fish/Lobster Hooping trip.
The boat will depart Pierpoint Landing in Long Beach at 12pm (noon) and will return at 12am (midnight). We should arrive at the Island around 2:30. We will fish until dark then hoopnet for lobster until its time to leave for home. All gear and bait, for Lobster fishing, will be included in the price off the trip. Cost is $160 per person, LIMITED TO ONLY 10 ANGLERS!

December 21, 2014 - Winter Solstice, Shortest Day of 2014.
First day of winter started today when the sun reached the solstice point located in western Sagittarius and furthest right in above illustration of Earth revolving in elliptical orbit around the sun. Today, December 21, 2014, is the shortest day of the year with a little less than 10 hours of sunshine and Earth is farthest from the sun.
HM Landing checking in this evening as the beat goes on. The Premier morning run had just 9 anglers catching 43 rockfish, 8 sand bass, 8 sheephead, and more. The Seeker on a hoop net trip last night released 102 lobster and kept 7 bugs with 3 crabs.
The Vendeta had another great day with 12 anglers out catching 46 yellowtail, 10 bonito, 1 halibut, and more.

Mitch checking in from the Southern Cal 1/2 day out of Pierpoint Landing with 2 trips today. This morning they looked at alot of yellowtail and ended up landing 1 fish with good rock fishing, whitefish, and more to go with it.

Last night aboard the Triton we had a great group of first time hoopers. We worked hard all throughout the harbor looking for bugs but only found a handful of legals for the night. Even with the slower Hooping Victors group of guys and gals had a great time enjoying friends and family on the water.

The Action at Marina Del Rey Sportfishing goes on with the Spitfire on a 3/4 day run sacked up 265 rockfish, and 13 lings. The Betty O with just 12 anglers had 100 rockfish, 3 sheephead, and 1 sand bass, 1/2 day on the New Del Mar pulled in 4 yellowtail, 245 rockfish, and so much more.

Mark is back live from Seaforth Landing with a great day of fishing today. We heard about the San Diego today as they ended up with limits of yellowtail for just 12 anglers at 60 fish with 37 bonito, and more. The morning 1/2 day run sacked up 85 rockfish.
