Heading in here after fishing across at Santa Rosa Island today with 33 anglers on board. Our fishing today was a grind however almost everything we caught was of nice quality. Our morning consisted of looking around in the shallower water for a couple handfuls of Lingcod and some nice Coppers. Working deeper we had a few decent drifts however nothing reacted quite how it looked. Our group had a great time and stayed at the rail ended up with a decent catch of fish to take home. Our 33 anglers ended the day with 203 Assorted Rockfish and 16 Lingcod.

Fish were showing on every stop we made, mostly bonito that were difficult to hook. We did manage to catch a few , plus 3 yellows to go with everything, things are looking better.

The groups request was lots of fish, didn’t matter how or where we got them, they just wanted fish!
It was somewhat of a struggle on the surface for the group but they did manage a nice 25lb Seabass and and 30lb Yellowtail along with a scattering of bass, a few cuda and Bonito. At the end of the day we fulfilled there wishes with plenty of whitefish and Rockfish! The group went home happy and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters!!

Howd'y, Merit here today. This morning we headed west up the coast with 23 eager anglers out for a 3/4- day of rockfish catching. Our first stop bent the rods with some nice coppers of 2 to 4 pounds. After that tapered off, we went spot to spot, first in 250 feet, then as deep as 320. We picked a few good ones from each, but no great shakes, just steady. Along the way we found several zones with lots of small chillies that we decended back and went on our way. Also, we encountered others with really nice reds and more coppers, 3 to 5 #. Right at the end, "last drop" actually, it went full speed on huge copper and red. So we put in a little OT and finished limits for all, even a 2 or 3 that hardly wet a line. Today in addition to bait, the iron works pretty well, but that had mostly to do with the anglers fishing it, all high end glow flatfall-slow pitch style gear. A group of 6 did this. Otherwise it was all about 10 ounce double dropper rigs baited with a fresh sardine strip or squid strip. Really nice reds again today. Count: 132 copper, 66 red, 21 bocaccio, 11 Bosco, 12 dabs. Released some small stuff, and lings.
Our next trip is Friday is 1/2 day trip. It is a go! The Stardust is a go with plenty of room 3/4 day fishing Thursday and Friday.
Please make reservations from the website or call the landing 805-963-3564
