Copper rockfish live in nearshore rocky environments and kelp beds. They are epibenthic, normally occurring slightly above the ocean floor. The depth range spans from the intertidal zone to 408 meters (1,338 feet), but are most frequently found in depths less than 70 meters (230 feet).
