Fried Teriyaki Yellowtail:

  • 4 yellowtail fillets
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 green onion, sliced thinly for garnish (optional)

  1. In a shallow dish, pour the teriyaki sauce.

  2. In another shallow dish, mix together the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Pat the yellowtail fillets dry with a paper towel. Then, dip each fillet into the teriyaki sauce to coat it well, and then into the cornstarch mixture, making sure to coat it evenly.

  4. Heat enough vegetable oil in a large skillet to come up about 1/2 inch high. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded yellowtail fillets into the skillet.

  5. Fry the fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

  6. Once the fillets are cooked, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  7. Serve the fried teriyaki yellowtail fillets hot with steamed rice and vegetables of your choice. Garnish with sliced green onion, if desired.

This recipe should yield 4 servings. Enjoy your delicious Fried Teriyaki Yellowtail!
